DIAGNOSTIC LAPAROSCOPY

Laparoscopy is a useful tool for diagnosing many gynecological conditions. These include ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, pelvic and gynecological organ infections, ovarian cysts, paraovarian cysts, tubal pathologies such as obstruction, hydrosalpinx and pyosalpinx, uterine fibroids, and others.

It is performed through two usually small incisions, about half to one centimeter long, on the woman’s abdomen, through which the procedure is carried out. A special camera inserted through one of the incisions provides a magnified, high-definition image for diagnosing potential conditions. Through the other incision, an endoscopic instrument is inserted to assist with precise surgical maneuvers.
