Associated symptoms include a feeling of heaviness in the pelvis, back pain when standing, the appearance of a small amount of blood due to irritation, and urinary symptoms. These may include difficulty urinating due to pressure from the descending uterus, frequent urination, recurrent urinary tract infections, and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying.
Its treatment concerns women who wish to preserve the uterus and their fertility, as well as those who have completed their families.

The most effective repair of uterine prolapse, while preserving the uterus, involves the use of a special suspension mesh. This synthetic mesh is designed to avoid infections and is biologically inert so that the body accepts it. It is placed between the uterus and the covering of the sacral bone of the pelvis, restoring the anatomical and natural position of the uterus without tension. The mesh is not left exposed in the abdomen but is covered with the peritoneum, the natural inner lining of the abdomen, and sutured. This technique is performed laparoscopically today, carrying all the advantages of laparoscopy, such as faster recovery and return to daily activities as early as the 2nd or 3rd postoperative day, compared with classical open surgery, which required several weeks of recovery. Postoperative pain is minimal and simple analgesics are sufficient, while the patient is discharged the day after surgery. The only preparation sometimes needed is a mild bowel preparation to facilitate the procedure.

When a woman no longer wishes to maintain fertility and does not wish to preserve the uterus, the above suspension technique is more appropriately combined with removal of the uterus. In this case, a subtotal laparoscopic hysterectomy with preservation of the cervix is recommended. This way, the mesh is not placed directly adjacent to the vaginal wall because the cervix remains in place. The mesh is again anchored to the sacral promontory and to the cervix, and if there is associated posterior wall laxity (rectocele) or anterior vaginal wall laxity (cystocele), these can also be corrected.

These laparoscopic techniques provide the best outcomes and outperform equivalent vaginal surgeries, as they offer higher success rates and lower chances of reoperation. Compared with classical open techniques, laparoscopic suspension of the vaginal vault or uterus provides similarly successful results with faster recovery, less pain, and better aesthetic outcomes due to the small skin incisions.

[61

post-7848","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-laparoscopy
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
